A Long Lost Love

I loved the last day of school because it always meant that I was about to start summer camp. Summer camp meant Color Wars, new friends, video games, field trips, and swimming! After my first perm when I was 10ish, swimming became something I could not do... along with getting caught in the rain or playing when it was humid outside :(

My recent trip to the beach was the first time in years that I've been completely carefree and able to enjoy the beach without worrying about how much of a chore it was going to be to get my hair back "right". And from there I've started swimming fairly often in the neighborhood pool. By the way swimming burns a LOT of calories and I still really love it. Best of all, having locks means that there is not a long involved hair care regimen after I get out. Woohoo!

The only complaint that I have is that the hair in my crown keeps unraveling, that area looks like Carmen's client in this post. That area is a pain in the butt because it still isn't locked and isn't holding up too well my new swim sessions, but I think I'm going to start using a 6 pt rotation in that area and see how it goes.

Oh, I have two other new loves. I got these really cute hair clips from OdodoOriginals (link on my sidebar).
The customer service was great and I absolutely love the hair clips themselves. They are super cute and even more beautiful in person. I've worn them a few of times since getting them a week ago and got lots of compliments each time. They're such a unique item and I will definitely be ordering again once I'm gainfully employed.

I had to come over to comb through your blog since you have similar hair to Mara's. It's magically that you blogged about the post of Mara's near straight hair. Thanks for the post. I am curious, nervous, and anxious to see how her hair will take to Sisterlocks.

Glad I could be of some inspiration. As far as your hair just continue to be patient and hoepfully they will lock soon. It's been going on two years and some and I still have a few locks in the front that havent locked.
And as for those clips girl you have out me on to something! Those clips are beautiful and look like they are worth every penny! They look really great on you and I got to get me some of those ASAP. Thanks for sharing the wonderful find! Take Care

That front hair line is so unique. I shampoo my locs often because of perspiration and dry scalp. It never fails. The front hair loosens and the front hair line looks, well, like it looks. I can't be too upset with it, though. I had to realize that I am not a cartoon character with perfect hairlines all the time lol...

Even after almost five years of being loc'd, this little test is still one the roughest to endure.

Your locs are looking great! Stay patient and be blessed~

Thanks for stopping by ladies. I really shouldn't be making any purchases, but when I saw the flower clips I couldn't resist. And I will be ordering a couple more.

@Jena, the crown is definitely an exercise in patience for me. I went swimming this morning and tired cornrowing my hair back thinking that would help with slippage. But all of the locks in that area still unraveled except for an inch and a half or so and I had to do them all over again. But I love my locks and won't be giving up on them anytime soon :)
